Questions for Douglas after 6 years in office
Letter to the Editor:
When running against Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan asked, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” Now, loyal Republican Gov. James Douglas after six years in office wants yet another term: So it’s appropriate to ask Vermonters: Are you better off now than you were six years ago?
Has your income increased to make things more affordable?
Has the cost of heating your home stayed affordable?
Has the price of gas for your car remained affordable?
Has health care for your family remained affordable?
Has tuition at our state colleges become affordable?
Gov. Douglas has based holding onto his governor’s chair on the idea of affordability — a great idea! But, it’s obvious to say, we Vermonters cannot afford another two years of Jim (does less) Douglas!
