June 10, 2008 Press Statement:

We should not confuse this legislation with the important changes we need in health care. These changes to Catamount will help a few people but do nothing to lower health care costs for our state. 

Let’s start talking about how we are going to take health insurance out of the workplace and off the backs of employers, stop wasting so much money on health care bureaucracy, and end the insanity of having health insurance companies making decisions about our health. That is the conversation we need to be having.

Under the current Governor’s so called ‘affordability agenda’ Vermonters spending on health care has gone up by $2 billion and premiums keep going up with no end in sight.  We can do better.
