Pollina Gets Early Endorsement from Workers
April 17, 2008 Press Statement:
Progressive Party candidate for Governor, Anthony Pollina received the first endorsement by a labor union in this year’s Governor’s race.
Pollina has the support of Ironworkers Local 7, representing workers in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
Damon Hall, of Swanton, said his group supports Pollina because he is focused on creating jobs and lowering the cost of health care. “Anthony is committed to putting people to work, good jobs with good benefits, that is what we need most,” he said. Hall is encouraged Pollina will work for “real universal health care.”
Hall said the group will do all it can to support Pollina with contributions and grassroots support. “We are supporting him now and will support him down the line,” he said.
Pollina said he appreciated the support of the Ironworkers especially this early in the campaign. “It shows people are eager for change in Montpelier,” said Pollina.
